Riley is a sweet gentleman that came to the shelter when his owner had to move to take care of a family member. He was heartbroken to give up his kitties. Riley can be shy at first with new people, but then he is easily won over with head rubs. Once he gets to know you, he won’t leave you alone. He loves attention and human companionship. Riley is diabetic so he requires portioned feedings and insulin administration twice a day. The process is fairly simple with some education. Riley also takes an antacid every day to keep his gut moving along to avoid an upset tummy.
Riley and his sister, Mari are very bonded and must be adopted together. Mari does not have any health issues and is a very sweet girl. She could probably get adopted a lot quicker if she was not bonded with Riley, but because Good Mews recognizes these bonds, we do not want to split them up. They love each other very much and are often seen cuddling together. They would both be devastated if they were separated. So even though it may take them a little longer to find that forever home, we are OK with that if that means keeping them together.
Although Riley loves his sister, Mari, he's not always accepting of other new kitties. He and Mari have lived with dogs without issue. So if you are looking for a fantastic pair, please come by and meet Riley and Mari!
