Pimento was rescued from animal control by another rescue group, but they are unable to house FIV+ kitties so he transferred to Good Mews. We are so glad to have him, because what a character this boy is! He is so chatty and has a lot of stories to tell about the places he's been and people he's seen. He doesn't really love being held but will let you pet him for a long while he coos, chirps and rubs up against you. He is a social, outgoing guy that loves meeting people, and once you’re his friend, he’ll always have your back; you’ll have a friend for life!
Pimento has a heart murmur and has seen a cardiologist. He has mild HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) which is an issue with his heart muscles. He does not need meds at this time but they recommend a recheck every 6-8 months.
Pimento is FIV+, but don’t let that scare you! FIV+ cats can live long and healthy lives. They can also live safely with FIV negative cats. FIV is spread through severe bite wounds, so it is important that your kitties get along. To learn more about FIV, please read the articles under the Advice tab.
