Ove (pronounced Oo - vuh) transferred to us from a county animal control for a better chance at finding a home. He was surrendered to that facility by his owner because the other cats in the home were picking on him and they felt bad for Ove. Maybe the other cats were jealous of his good looks and sweet personality? He is a gentle soul that just wants to be friends with everyone he meets and will always raise his paw if someone is looking for someone to cuddle with.
We are glad Ove came to Good Mews so we could fix him up before he finds a new loving family. Ove was already missing some teeth and then had several more extracted soon after intake. He has healed nicely, but we recommend annual dental exams and/or cleanings to keep his mouth healthy. This is especially important with FIV+ kitties. Ove gets along with other cats. He would be fine to be alone as the king of the castle or live harmoniously with another friendly cat or two.
Ove is FIV+, but don’t let that scare you! FIV+ cats can live long and healthy lives. They can also live safely with FIV negative cats. FIV is spread through severe bite wounds, so it is important that your kitties get along. To learn more about FIV, please read the articles under the Advice tab.
