Joy’s story just breaks our heart. Years ago, her family turned her into a small county animal control. Because of her sweet disposition, she was adopted, but later returned because her adopters didn’t want to deal with some skin issues she was having. It makes us sad that they didn’t care enough about her to take her to the vet to figure out what was wrong and help fix it. But again, because of how sweet and loving she was, she was adopted again. But sadly, this family did not work out either because when they had to move, they decided instead of taking her along, they brought her back to the animal control. So Joy was pretty much a long-timer at that facility. It seemed she spent more time at the animal control then in a home.
When we went to pull some cats from that shelter and heard about Joy’s misfortunes, we knew we had to bring her back to Good Mews. Joy has no trouble finding homes, it’s keeping them that’s the problem. While at Good Mews, she was with us less than a month when her new mom fell in love with her and took her home. Joy lived with her mom for 4 years and they had a wonderful relationship. They were very bonded with each other and they cuddled up in bed together every night. Joy was spoiled beyond belief and the two meant the world to each other. Then sadly her mom could no longer live alone and had to move to an assisted living and could not take Joy along. Both were heartbroken, especially Joy. She had finally found someone to love her and commit to her. We’re hoping Joy does not give up and just expect the worse for now on. We know there is someone out there that can give this sweet girl the forever home she deserves.
