about me

When this older gentleman first arrived at Good Mews, we could tell he had a rough life! He was so dirty, we didn’t even know he was white until he had a bath! His mouth was in such horrible shape; he had to have two dental procedures with several extractions. But after some medical treatment, and tons of TLC, Hector is feeling so much better. And it certainly helps that this shelter favorite is getting tons of love from our volunteers and staff. Everyone that meets him thinks he’s the sweetest guy around.

Hector loves people, so much so that he’ll come running when you enter the room and give you tons of head-butts. When he first arrived, he wasn’t much of a lap-cat, but now that he’s more comfortable in his environment, he’ll sometimes crawl into someone’s lap and purr with happiness when they pet or brush him. Hector doesn’t ask for much in life; it’s the simple things that make this gentle boy happy.

Our older kitties have a harder time finding their forever homes, but we’re hoping someone will come in soon and fall in love with this handsome guy and will want to give him the loving home he deserves. Because of his age, he has early signs of kidney disease and receives fluids under his skin once a week. Hector is such a sweet, quiet cat, whoever adopts him will be one lucky person.

Hector is FIV+, but don’t let that scare you! FIV+ cats can live long and healthy lives. They can also live safely with FIV negative cats. FIV is spread through severe bite wounds, so it is important that your kitties get along. To learn more about FIV, please read the articles under the Advice tab.
