Gonzo was abandoned at our shelter and we are not sure why. Obviously we are not 100% sure where Gonzo lived before he come to Good Mews, but our guess is he was a street cat. Gonzo still gets scared in new situations and hasn’t begun to trust people completely yet.
Gonzo lived in a foster home for several months while Good Mews transitioned into the new building. There his foster mom began to see Gonzo’s personality emerge. He enjoys wet food and treats and can be vocal about “asking” you to be quick about it! With time and patience Gonzo learned not to be afraid of toys. With slow movements he can be enticed with wand and feather toys. When left to his own devices he very much enjoys a good roll with a cat nip toy or a game of chase with a feline companion.
Gonzo may never snuggle on the couch with his person but he will keep you entertained. And he’s a gentle giant where other cats are concerned and will always be glad to snuggle with another cat. His current love is fellow Good Mews resident Sophia but he won over all the ladies in his foster home.
We would love to find Gonzo a home with someone who will give him the time he needs to settle and adjust. There are people out there that love to adopt cats like this so they can take the time to work with them. They know the end result is a huge reward. Besides, they know cats like Gonzo deserve a loving home as well.
If you are this kind of person, please come by and meet Gonzo and consider taking him home so you can work your magic.
