Cherry and her 3 siblings were surrendered to a county animal control after living with their family for 6 years. Due to reasons beyond their control, the family could no longer care for them. They were all understandably sad to go from a loving home, where they were happy and had no care in the world, to sitting in a cage in a noisy shelter. They had no idea what was happening to them. Thankfully Good Mews had space to rescue all 4 cats so they could have a second chance at a forever home.
Cherry took the transition harder than her siblings. The staff at animal control could not get her to eat and she would not let them touch her. But we understood her fear and confusion and we just had to bring her back to Good Mews so she could relax and get a ton of love from our volunteers. She is starting to settle down and once you start petting and loving on her, she remembers that life can be good. Hopefully Cherry will find a new loving home soon and be the happy, sweet girl we know she can be.
