Betty was a stray cat outside, doing everything she could to stay alive. A volunteer started feeding her, then noticed she was pregnant, so she brought her indoors so she could have her babies in a safe environment. Since she lived her life outside with very little human contact, it took her a little time to warm up to people. Once she felt comfortable, she was a very sweet girl. When space opened up at Good Mews, the family came here to find their forever homes. Betty was a great mom to her 4 babies, but she was ready to find her own family so she could be someone’s baby!
Betty came to Good Mews in October 2018, so she’s been waiting a while for a forever home. We’re not sure why she is overlooked because she is a social butterfly and enjoys meeting people. She can be a tad nippy when she doesn’t want to be bothered, but that could be because of the shelter environment. Once in a home of her own, we are hopeful she will no longer nip.
Betty isn’t a lap cat right now, but she does enjoy sitting by her human friends, receiving pets and hearing how adorable she is. She has soft fur like a bunny and because of her markings, she looks like she always has a big smile on her face.
Betty is a great girl and we are hoping she finds her forever home soon. She does well with the other cats at the shelter, but she’d also do great as a single cat, that way she will get all the love and attention for herself!
