about me

Acacia had a tough life before she came to Good Mews. She was pregnant, living outside, trying to fend for herself. Someone found her, and she was brought to a county animal control and sat in her cage, all alone and afraid. She knew she had to get out of there before something bad happened to her and her unborn babies, so she escaped her cage. She hid in the laundry room and that is where she gave birth to her babies. We can’t imagine how terrified she was. When we were contacted the next day, we knew we had to give this girl a better life. We picked her and her babies up and they went straight to a loving foster home.

This was in 2016 and Acacia is still waiting for her forever home. She has had a hard time finding one because she was extremely shy once she came to the shelter. She hid high up on the cat trees, away from the humans. If she was out and about and someone tried to touch her, she would run. But gradually Acacia started to trust people and if you went slow with her, she would allow you to pet her for short periods of time. Eventually Acacia decided being petted and loved on wasn’t such a bad thing after all! With time and patience, shy cats will come around. Now Acacia loves to be around people and will purr while you love on. And she also told us she is ready for her forever home. She may regress some once she finds her forever family, but if they are patient with her and spend a lot of time with her, she will be the loving girl they met at the shelter.

Acacia would do best in a home with other feline friendly kitties.

I am good with other cats
