Description

Hi! This is Val (though I do like to be called Valerie) and I am going to write first since I am braver than my brother. I am first to explore and investigate new things. I love being cuddled and will groom you back. If I lay next to you I like to have at least one paw touching my human companion. I was the first to realize the two dogs in my foster home are just smelly harmless beasts that make loud noises – my brother has taken more convincing. I love my brother and look out for him – we are like bookends most of the time. It can be hard to tell us apart at first but I have to admit I have the female middle age spread. I like catnip and playing with toys. And I LOVE to get in the shower after my foster parent is done and lap up the water. My favorite things include hanging on the screen porch and watching the birds, kitty treats, and tuna juice poured over my canned food. One thing that concerned my foster parent – I tend not to jump on furniture and it has taken some coaxing to get on the sofa or bed and sometimes just need to be picked up.

Hi! This is Chai. I have the same likes and loves as my sister but I am a bit more cautious about sudden sounds (such as pointless dog barking). I will hang outside the shower waiting for my turn, sometimes showing impatience and getting my head wet. I love to lie on my human’s chest while they are reading or watching TV and have a need to clean their fingers – especially if there is lotion on their hands. I have finally figured out the dogs are just large hairy things that live in this house and when they are quiet I will hang out with my foster parent. I like to sit in the cat tree in the sun and later take naps under the tables. Both my sister and I like our new cat siblings who are also senior citizens. At first, they were not happy we were here but now they share our food, litterbox, and toys and we all take turns grooming each other. And you should know that we always use our litterbox and only use the scratch pads and posts. The whole cat family likes to join our foster parent when she is doing yoga at home and lay around her yoga mat!
So from both of us, we are looking for our forever home. It is sad that the only parent we have ever known gave us up but we know that there is someone out there who will appreciate our gentle nature and the love and joy we can give.

Val and Chai must be adopted together.

Description

Toni spends a lot of time at the shelter curled up in her kitty bed, sleeping. I know she is dreaming of a quiet home with someone who will love her forever. Toni used to have a loving home, but her human passed away and left Toni behind.  Toni was very scared and confused when she came to the shelter. Her whole world as she knew it was turned upside down.  She has never been around so many cats and activity, so she keeps to herself, hoping someone will come in and take her home. She is a very sweet girl that enjoys being petted and will purr with happiness from the attention.
Toni is one of my favorite kitties at the shelter right now because she really tugs at your heart-strings. Every animal deserves a nice home and because of Toni’s shyness, she may be over-looked. I hope someone comes in and falls in love with her like I have.

Toni is in our HALO program because she has glaucoma, kidney disease and a heart murmur. She is a very sweet girl that loves being in a home. To learn more about our HALO program, or to contact our shelter manager for more information about Toni, please click on the HALO tab.

Toni is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please email (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Toni is in our Kitty Keeper program and sends out quarterly updates on how things are going at the shelter. To read more about our Kitty Keeper program, click on our donate tab.

Featured Kitty

star

Good_Mews

Life hasn’t been very rosy for this bashful little girl. Star spent the first 3 years of her life living outside, fending for herself. She was a tough cookie though and survived, and also took care of the kittens she gave birth to. A kind lady started feeding her, and was finally able to gain her trust and bring her inside with her babies. Thankfully homes were quickly found for her kittens, but Star was still waiting for that special someone to give her the home she has never had.
Her guardian angel was able to foster her until space became available at Good Mews. Star got along great with her rescuer’s other kitties and even started to feel comfortable in her foster home. So we do know once she feels safe, she will be a nice companion.
When you first approach Star, she may hiss, but she really does not mean any harm. She will not swat or bite; she is just asking you to take it slow. When she realizes you just want to love on her, she will purr and make biscuits. Another way into Star’s heart is feeding her Fancy Feast with the little cheese chunks!
Star is very happy to be safely indoors and would love to have a loving home of her own. Star does love to cuddle with other cats, so she is required to be adopted into a home where she will have some feline companions.
